​As a sexuality researcher, queer parent, and seasoned professional in the summer camp industry for over a decade, I deeply support The Pride Tree. Summer camps are crucial for youth development, impacting socialization & bond formation. However, traditional camps often reinforce gender and sexuality norms. Camp Pride Tree provides a vital, inclusive space where queer youth in Nevada can be themselves, fostering visibility and safety. Here, they can dance, dress, and express freely, embodying the true spirit of 'camp' in every joyous moment.
